With over three decades of dedication to the sport, Delia Alvarez-Apollo has established herself as a trusted name in developing elite horses and ponies. Her education in the saddle includes training alongside Olympic veterans Nona Garson and Anne Kursinski, and collaborating with top hunter trainers to campaign exceptional equine athletes for Apollo Farms Ltd.

A true family passion, Delia and her daughter, Elliena Apollo, are familiar faces on the national "AA" circuit, where they have guided multiple ponies to National Championship titles and many horses to Regional titles.

Delia’s expertise extends far beyond the show ring. A collegiate rider for Salem-Teikyo University and a published author, her work has appeared in The Plaid Horse, Equestrian Magazine, and Wellington’s Weekly Wire. Blending her background in Equine Science, Business Management, and Accounting, she founded Apollo Farms Ltd. in Palmerton, PA. For 25 years, the farm has been a hub for top-level sales, as well as a home to impactful community programs designed for seniors and at-risk youth.

Today, Delia brings her lifetime of knowledge to her website, The Mare and Gelding. Her mission is rooted in integrity, offering transparent representation and expert marketing to ensure that every horse finds its ideal partner and every client achieves their goals.

Elliena Apollo

Elliena Apollo has been in the saddle since age two, growing up deeply involved in every facet of the horse industry. From selecting and developing young prospects to competing at the highest levels, she has built an impressive resume as a Junior Rider, earning multiple championship titles against top industry professionals. Trained by elite riders such as Nona Garson and Victoria Colvin, Elliena has developed an exceptional eye for talent. Her sharp instincts are best highlighted by her famous mount, The Contender—a horse she hand-selected herself and guided to five consecutive championships across four different divisions.

Paddock Equine

Dr. Leah Patipa graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine with an emphasis in Large Animals. She was accepted to stay at UGA for a very competitive 1-year equine rotating hospital internship. Following her internship she worked in Alpharetta, GA for a busy sport horse practice while her husband finished his equine surgical residency. Her goal was to always return to her roots in Wellington, FL where she was born and grew up riding competitively. After one year in Alpharetta, her dream came true and her and her husband (Dr. Axel) accepted a position back in South Florida at a referral practice. In 2014 they started Paddock Equine Veterinary Services in Wellington where they have been practicing since.

She has a special interest in sport horse lameness and medicine and when she is not working you will find her showing her horses in the hunter ring or watching her kids in the pony ring..
